Dal 2009 Z’EV sta sviluppando la \u201ccine-cussion\u201d un progetto audio-video che trasforma energie
\nsonore in proiezioni video. Questo lavoro si basa su quanto comunemente conosciuto come cimatica
\n(il fenomeno delle forme create dalle onde sonore generate dalla vibrazione di una superficie).
\nNel dicembre del 2011 Z’EV ha presentato sei proiezioni di cine-cussion in Italia utilizzando
\npercussioni elettroniche per produrre le onde sonore che mettevano in vibrazione l’acqua; le forme
\nvenivano riprese e riprodotte con una videocamera e un proiettore.
\nNel 2014 Z’EV proseguono le performance di Z’EV con le cine-cussion in Italia, arricchite da
\npercussoni acustiche che si affiancano a quelle elettroniche.

Z’EV nasce il 1951 in una famiglia ebrea di Los Angeles e studia batteria sin dall’et\u00e0 di otto anni.
\nDal 1959 al 1965 studia con Arnie Frank, Chuck Flores e Art Anton.
\nNel 1963 decide di abbandonare l’ebraismo per relazionarsi con diversi pensieri religiosi ed esoterici.
\nNel 1966 suona assieme a Carl Stone e James Stewart. Il trio che si dedica soprattutto Jazz rock, si scioglie dopo un’audizione per la Bizarre Records di Frank Zappa,
\nDopo gli studi produce i primi lavori con lo pseudonimo S. Weisser ispirati alla poesia visiva e alla poesia sonora.
\nNel 1975 sue opere vengono esposte nella mostra Second Generation al Museum of Conceptual Art di San Francisco.
\nNel 1977 presenta il suo primo solo di percussioni alla spazio espositivo La Mamelle di San Francisco.
\nNel 1978 inizia a sviluppare una personale ricerca performativa e musicale, utilizzando strumenti autocostruiti composti da materiali industriali e reciclati come barre d’acciaio, titanio, e PVC.
\nNegli anni 80 Z’EV introdusse in Europa un suono basato su un uso massiccio di percussioni metalliche che in molti ripresero.<\/p>\n

\n“DJ Balli is the performing name of the Italian based breakcore artist Riccardo Balli. With a past as a drummer in the straight edge hardcore band “Isotopi del Dolore” and as a noise musician in the “S.E.B.” plunderphonics collective, at the beginning of the ’90s Dj Balli lost interest for music to concentrate on writing. More solid result of this shift, the book in Italian language “Anche Tu Astronauta” (1998) about the A.A.A.(Association of Autonomous Astronauts). Few years later in the 2000, the reconciliation with music came via the A.A.A. itself with the release of three tracks on the “Rave In Space” compilation cd. The year 2000 was also when he started his own label Sonic Belligeranza and began DJing more regularly. Bored with the average DJs, standing and playing one record after the other, Balli got involved into the more “adventurous” turntablism, melting his crab, flare and chirp scratch with digital glitch from the lap-top.<\/p>\n

In the year 2004 in response to the clich\u00e9 indulged by of most of the breakcore sound he launched the two sublabels +Belligeranza and -Belligeranza dedicated to enrich his own (and hopefully many others djs one…) set with, respectively, distorted frequencies and vinyl extravaganza. To hear it from his own words: “Modern, liberated, contemporary, of a broad spectrum, experimental, stress-relieving, post-organic, vegetative, intelligent, extraordinary. These are adjectives often applied to electronic dance music, with Dj Balli things are different”.<\/p>\n

Further musical projects associated with dj Balli: The Wrong Nigga To Fuk Wiz, Bally Corgan, Bombolo Blues Band, The Right W.A.S.P. To Play Golf Wiz and In Skatebored We Noize!<\/p>\n

Riccardo Balli is also active as a music writer both in Italian for different pubblishers and in English for the magazine of noise and politics Datacide.”<\/p>\n
